Lamp Redo

Last weekend was our city wide garage sales.  I am not a huge garage saler (salee?  sale-er?...is it even a word?), but there are a few this time of year that I don't like to miss.  I usually get a lot of my kids' summer clothes at two or three main sales.  Of course, the main reason I don't like them is that I tend to buy junk that I don't need.  However, every once in awhile I'll find something that will give me the kick in the pants that I need to finish a project that is long long long long long long long overdue.  That happened this weekend when I found a lampshade for $2.

Enter this lamp.

I've had it since college.  In case you don't want to do the math, that means I've had it for 14 years.  And it has basically looked exactly like it does in the picture above.  (and you thought I was exaggerating with all of the long long long's up there, didn't you?)

Here is what I did to give it some life and make it not look so sad.

1.  Materials
 2.  Measure and trace.
3.  Cut out.
4.  Glue
5.  Trim
6.  Glue some more.
7.  Finished!  It only took me 14 years and, thankfully, I am very happy with the result :)

Do you have a large pile of projects waiting to be completed?  What does it take for you to finally get.it.done.?
