Salt dough is an easy craft to whip up on short notice. It's also not just for Christmas.
This week we made spring themed decorations.
Here's the recipe I used.
2 cups white flour
1 cup salt
1 cup water
1 tablespoon oil (optional--this makes the dough easier to work with)
1 tablespoon lemon juice (optional--this makes the dough harder after baking)
Mix all those ingredients together, and hand it to the kiddos to roll and cut out.
Place on a cookie sheet and bake at 250 degrees for about 20 minutes.
Below are a few tricks I used.
The rubber bands make it easier for children to evenly roll out the dough.
