A Nativity Tradition

We have three children, ages 4 and under. I've learned that visual aids go a long way when trying to teach them something. One thing that is really important to us, is them understanding the gift of baby Jesus on Christmas.

Last year we started a new tradition. We wrapped Mary and Baby Jesus and placed them under the tree. On Christmas morning, the first thing we did was let the kids unwrap the gift of baby Jesus. We took that opportunity to talk about what that means to us, then we placed them with the nativity.

I love what they got out of that and plan to carry it out for years to come. This is a simple and easy idea you can do with little ones.
