I'm Dreaming of a DIY Christmas

1. Transfer photos to wood with this simple process. // 2. Need an inexpensive idea for an exchange? Try these tea cup candles with vintage thrift store finds. // 3. Dress up a plain white mug with stenciled animals - if you really love your giftee, include some gourmet coffee, too. // 4. This one is for sale, but you can recreate a silhouette pillow yourself using freezer paper and paint. Snap a picture of a loved one's loved ones (pets are an option, too), or find a stock picture of a reindeer or Santa to make a Christmas-themed pillow. Check out this Mamas tutorial to help you. // 5. I made state nail & string art like this for my sisters-in-law last year - white washed the boards and used copper nails to make it stand out. They were pretty easy and turned out beautiful. What a fun, personalized gift. // 6. A small collection of paper flower key holders is inexpensive and perfect for anyone in your life that loves books or could use a little organization. // 7. For the beer lover in your life - make a nice wooden carrier with a bottle opener right on the side. // 8. Also for the man in your life, Bacon Cheesecake Brownies. Yes, bacon. // 9. And to round out the collection, one last good-as-gold gift for the nerdy man in your life - a Star Wars cross stitch. If Star Wars isn't his thing, be sure to check out the rest of the collection.

I could do this for days. I'm thinking a DIY roundup for the kids in your life, as well as stocking stuffers and gift wrapping is in the cards for this season.

Do you like to make gifts for others, shop creatively in stores, or are you more of the "buy them what they want so you know they'll like it" variety? If you're making anything, what are you working on?
